As one of Qliro’s first UX designers, I helped build its design practice and co-created the checkout experience that became Qliro One, adopted by leading merchants to simplify online payments.
I also shaped Qliro’s in-store payment solution and app, which enabled customers to pay invoices in one click, apply for loans effortlessly, and open savings accounts seamlessly - advancing Qliro’s growth into a broader financial services platform.

Map the checkout journey across online and in-store to identify friction points. Benchmark against competitors like Klarna to see where Qliro could differentiate. Capture merchant needs to understand what drives their preference in selecting a payment partner.
Merchant Engagement
Differentiation from Klarna through simplicity, transparency, and merchant-first focus. Test prototypes with merchant partners to ensure Qliro meets their business goals (higher conversions, trust, easy integration). Co-create merchant dashboards or integration tools to strengthen adoption. Position Qliro as a simpler, more merchant-friendly alternative to competitors.
Seamless Online Checkout
Delivered a frictionless checkout experience that reduced drop-off and improved conversion rates. Adopted by leading Nordic merchants, positioning Qliro as a trusted payment partner. Provided merchants with a competitive alternative to Klarna, strengthening Qliro’s market share.
Merchant Adoption
Gained deeper insight into merchant needs, shaping features that increased loyalty and preference for Qliro. Helped Qliro grow into the second-largest online checkout provider in Sweden at the time. Delivered measurable impact in transaction growth and merchant onboarding.
